Jiangsu Zhongke Jinlong Chemical Co., Ltd. started the research and development of carbon sequestration technology of waste CO2 from business in 2003. It is the earliest and only domestic CO2 emission reduction company that has formed a 10,000-ton scale. Not only successfully developed polypropylene carbonate (hereinafter referred to as PPC) polyols using industrial waste CO2 as raw materials, but also developed a series of environmentally friendly products using PPC polyols as raw materials.

      PPC polyol is a polyol prepared from CO2 (35-40% usage) and propylene oxide under the action of a catalyst. Combines the characteristics of polyether and polyester polyols. The preparation technology passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the State Environmental Protection Administration in August 2004, and has reached the international leading level. It has successively obtained 10 national invention patents including catalyst preparation, production technology and equipment, and also applied for 3 international invention patents.

      The project has typical characteristics of energy saving and emission reduction, and has far-reaching strategic significance for the development of the global low-carbon economy. The extensive implementation of the project, on the one hand, can effectively reduce the use of petroleum-based products, which can replace polyethers and common non-degradable plastics; on the other hand, it can open up new ways of CO2 recycling and promote CO2 emission reduction by recycling industrial CO2 emissions. . According to statistics, the global demand for polyether will reach more than 11 million tons in 2016. The global market demand for biodegradable plastics is not less than 10 million tons, and the chain effect of energy saving and emission reduction is huge.

      Chairman Xu Yuhua told reporters that the company will sign a cooperation agreement on recycling carbon dioxide with the alcohol, steel, and power plants in Jiangsu Province in accordance with the principle of upper and lower extensions, and extend the CO2-based PPC polyol application enterprises to create a low-carbon economic development. The industry chain has made great efforts to reduce CO2 emissions.

      Starting from January 1, 2015, Changchun, Jilin, took the lead in launching a "plastic ban" in the province, prohibiting the production, sales and provision of non-degradable plastic products and tableware. In April 2015, Jiangsu Province also introduced a "plastic restriction order", which was included in the legislation for the first time. Through the above measures, it can be seen that biodegradable plastic products will replace non-degradable products and become the mainstream of the market.
